Flowers: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do you post them? Answer: I asked myself, “As an artist, what can I do to help others during this pandemic?” My answer: Each week during the pandemic, usually on Wednesdays, I post an image of flowers or a nature scene in hopes that it brings a momentary bit of beauty and joy to your day and week.

Q: Can I copy or share the images with others? Answer: Yes, I encourage you to do so, especially to those whose spirits might need a lift during this depressing time. I prefer that you share the link to the flowers, but if you share individual images, I ask that you retain my copyright information on the images.

Q: I’d like to buy a print of one of the images, what sizes do you make and how much do you sell them for? Answer: The images are not for sale. They are my gift to you. However, if you, or someone you know, is suffering from Covid-19 (or any other malady) and you think a physical print would brighten more than just one day in their life, please contact me and I will try to provide a print gratis (for free) or at cost. I print them individually on my home printer on archival fine art paper or archival photo paper in 4×6, 5×7, and 8×10 inches sizes. I will try to accommodate as many requests as possible.

Q: Can we send you pictures to brighten up your day? Answer: Yes, and many people have already sent me wonderful pictures. I truly appreciate seeing other people’s images — whether taken by them personally or just something they like and want to share. If you don’t already have my email address, use the contact form to request it.

Q: How long have you been posting flowers? Answer: The image naming scheme is “WJL-Flowers_and_Nature-xxxx,” with the x’s being a number. The number represents the week that it was posted. For example, “WJL-Flowers_and_Nature-0022” was my twenty-second week of posting. I will continue to post for as long as I am able until the pandemic is over.
